Melissa K. Adams

Melissa Adams is a seasoned executive, responsible for leading supplier diversity with Amazon Fresh (Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go and Whole Foods Markets). In this role, she is responsible for leading the company's supplier diversity strategies for growing small and diverse spend, as well as overseeing its implementation across all business units for the transformative grocery market.

Throughout her career, Melissa has been a champion for diversity and inclusion. She has played a pivotal role in developing and implementing successful programming and helping to create economic opportunities for small and diverse businesses. In addition, Melissa has proudly served as a leader dedicated to team building, employee development, and achieving exceptional results.

Prior to her current role, Melissa was the head of global supplier diversity with UPS. Prior to joining UPS, she held senior leadership positions where she led the development and implementation of successful information technology programs. Melissa was the senior program director for access management with GuideWell Source and has also served in the roles of senior manager of charitable giving for Southeastern Grocer and manager of digital engagement with Florida Blue (a Blue Cross Blue Shield company). Melissa began her career as an analyst with Accenture.

Presently, Melissa is a board of directors’ member for Girls, Inc. of Greater Atlanta where she is the Vice Chair and is a member of the Clark Atlanta University Guild, Leadership Florida, Leadership Jacksonville and The Links, Incorporated, Atlanta (GA) Chapter.

Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in finance and international business from Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA). Melissa also holds professional certifications in post-crisis leadership, supply chain management, supplier diversity, and contract management from the University of Tampa (Tampa, FL).

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys traveling, volunteering in her community, and mentoring young professionals. She is committed to making a positive impact in the world and helping others achieve their full potential.
